Hello this is
Wendi Bailey your Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President with
your Weekly Chamber Update.
The Georgia
Chamber of Commerce hosts a series of Power Lunches with local chambers in the
Regions. These events feature Georgia Chamber Board Chair, Steve Green and Chamber
President, Chris Clark.
New this
year, the Power Lunch for our Region will be held in Toccoa on Thursday July 25th
at the Currahee Club from 11:30am to 1pm.
You are
invited to attend and interact with Georgia Chamber members and business people
from the region to learn more about key business issues and what we can all do
to achieve our common business goals.
So in July
the Georgia Chamber will be here in Toccoa and in August Toccoa-Stephens County
will be featured in the Georgia Trend Business Magazine with 50,000 copies
delivered to leaders and affluent consumers across the state. If you are
interested in purchasing ad space to accompany the article please let me know
by June 20.
I have a few
announcements for you:
TODAY
at 10am we have a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting celebration for Feral Outfitters
at their location on Doyle Street in downtown Toccoa. Feral Outfitters is owned
by Karly Herring and her store specializes in women’s clothing offering a wide
variety of edgy style.
This Friday
we have a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting for Janelle Heart owner of Tinker Bell’s
Flea Market located at 518 Currahee Street and next Tuesday we have a Ribbon
Cutting Celebration for Dr. Benny Erwin and his new location on Stephens
Circle.
The NEGA Employer’s Seminar is TODAY at the
Pointe Church on SR 17. There is
a complimentary afternoon session from 1pm to 2pm on the affordable care act. Pease
call the Chamber for a complete schedule at 706-886-2132.
The
Georgia Mountain Farm Tour on this
weekend including a tour of our very own Taylor Creek Farms. Tickets are on
sale now in the Welcome Center. Also
this weekend the Ida Cox music fest continues on Doyle Street with the Blue Billy Grit Band. We hope to see
you there!
