this is Wendi Bailey, your Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President
with your Weekly Chamber Update. Toccoa-Stephens County has lots
of opportunity to attract tourists to the 12th annual Currahee
Military Weekend set for October 5th-7th, recently
named the Best Downtown Event in Georgia! We need your help to invite
your friends and family, put on your red, white and blue, and show off our
Currahee Military Museum and Camp Toccoa at Currahee.
Friday the 5th is the
Chamber BBQ, Book Signing and USO Hangar Dance. Saturday the 6th is
the Currahee Challenge, Veterans Parade, Blue Ridge Rifles, Memorabilia Show,
Living History Camps, Parachute Jumps, Huey Helicopter Rides, and an evening
Banquet and Auction. On Sunday the 7th is the Remembrance Service
with a 21 gun salute and breakfast at BJ’s. BBQ and Dance Tickets are
available NOW at the Welcome Center. For a complete list of our events and

Come celebrate the lives and contributions of the paratroopers who trained at
Camp Toccoa on Currahee Mountain during WWII.
I
have a Few Announcements for you today:

Our
Ribbon Cutting Celebration will be TODAY at the DOCO Credit Union.
They’ve expanded their membership eligibility and have a new name. Come
celebrate with Branch Manager Eddie Powers and his team at 10am today at their
location on Liberty Hill Rd.

This
afternoon at 5pm the Business-After-Hours will be hosted by Verizon and new
store manager Jared Vermilya. The jack pot drawing is at 5:30pm and
is $775. You MUST be present to win.
Your
