Thursday July 18, 2013
Hello this is
Wendi Bailey your Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President with
your Weekly Chamber Update.
Has anyone
ever asked you: What’s there to do around here? Can you recommend a good
restaurant? Where can I do some shopping? Or Where’s a good place to spend the
night?
Well, with
the Southern Living Showcase Home opening up from September through December
and the Currahee Military Weekend in October we’ll have lots of visitors in
town, asking us lots of questions.
To prepare
for our out of town guests, the Chamber is presenting a “Customer Service &
Hospitality Training” on Thursday August 8th facilitated by Ruth
King of NGTC from 11:30an to 1pm in the Mitchell Allen Room.
Customer
Service is the new PR. Participants will learn “customer service” tips and how
to best promote Toccoa-Stephens County’s attractions, activities and events as
the best on earth. You must RSVP by calling the Chamber at 706-886-2132.
I have a few announcements for you:
The
TSC Tomorrow Visioning Champions will meet with the Leadership Action Team next
Tuesday to discuss the next “Community Input” meeting with the J.W. Fanning
Institute on September 12th. If
you’d like a copy of the Toccoa-Stephens County community vision, please come
by the Chamber or call 706-886-2132.
The deadline
to register for the Georgia Chamber of
Commerce Power Lunch is Monday July 22nd. Come hear Chamber
President and CEO, Chris Clark on Thursday July 25th at the Currahee
Club from 11:30am to 1pm. Lunch is complimentary but you must RSVP by emailing powerlunch@gachamber.com.
Next
Thursday we have a special grand opening Ribbon Cutting Celebration for Damon
Media billboard marketing here at the Train Depot. Hope to see you there!
Finally,
this Saturday night don’t miss a variety of local bands playing live at the Ida
Cox music festival on Doyle Street from 7pm to 10pm. That’s good music every
Saturday night – through the end of July!
Our business
is helping your business! The Chamber offers enhanced visibility, referrals and
assistance with business challenges. Join us today and let’s work together for
a better Toccoa-Stephens County.
That’s your
weekly Update. I’m Wendi Bailey your Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce
President.
