Weekly Chamber Update
April 25, 2013
Hello
this is Wendi Bailey, your T-SC CoC President with your Weekly Chamber Update.
The 16th Annual Chamber of Commerce Golf
Tournament is set for Friday May 17th at Currahee Club on the Jim Fazio designed Rolex World’s Top 1,000 golf
course. Our presenting sponsor is North
Georgia Credit Union and Golf Committee Chair is Corey Shiflet of NEGA Bank.
Teams are registering now and singles will be matched up to form teams. There’s
still time to promote
your business with a hole sign on the tee box. It’s a great way to market to
key decision makers fast. Call or come by the Chamber to get your application
today.
The Chamber’s 67th
Annual Meeting and Awards Program is set for Wednesday May 22nd. Our Special Guest
Speaker is Mr. Dink Nesmith, President of Community Newspapers, Inc. and Chair
of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. We’ll celebrate
successes, recognize our outstanding member partners, and install our new Board
of Directors including our new Chairman Brian Akin of North Georgia Credit
Union. Call or come by the Chamber to make your reservation today.
I have a few
announcements for you today:
The Chamber is offering a new marketing opportunity, in
partnership with the Toccoa Falls College
student video production group, called Eagle Vision Productions. The group is
partnering to produce the TruVista Community Channel’s new 30 minute show
called “Out & About in
Toccoa-Stephens County”. They’ll also produce commercials to air on the
show. Only $25 for wording and a picture slide show or $50 for a video.
Call or come by the Chamber for more information.
We are so proud of
the Keep Toccoa Stephens County Beautiful Director Linda Scofield and the Clean
Community Competition. We are over half way
through and are still going strong. There are over 21 cleaning teams competing
to clean up our community. Help them get more points by calling us to schedule
a time to pick up your trash, your tires and even haul off your junk cars. The
challenge ends May 31.
Finally Today at 5pm is Taste of
Toccoa in Downtown Toccoa. Everything you could ever want - from sweet to salty
- and new this year our very own Currahee Vineyard’s wine tasting at the Cornerstone
and X Factor.
Your
Chamber celebrates all progress by posting positive stories on the web site at www.toccoagachamber.com under the “Good News” tab. Visit the web
site and be amazed at all our community has accomplished.
That’s
your weekly Update. I’m Wendi Bailey your Toccoa Stephens County Chamber of
Commerce President.
